Fabulous experience! Emma, our guide, was knowledgeable and great with my 8 year old daughter. We loved the adventure and would definitely recommend doing this while in Kaikōura.

Unfortunately, our tour was cancelled due to weather. Communication with the tour operator was excellent. Wish we could have kayaked.

Is it possible for people with disabilities do this? Eg someone on crutches?

Thank you for your question, Yes we are able to take people with disabilities. Kayaking. We would sit them in the front of a double sea kayak with a guide or strong kayaker behind them. For more information please email us at [email protected]

Hi, I notice it doesn't specify a minimum age... Does that mean our 2yo and 3yo can kayak also?

Thank you :)

Hi there, how dangerous is it for non-swimmers? Will the kayak tip over easily? Thanks for the info.

Comments

Hi Ellen, non-swimmers are more than welcome to kayak with Kaikoura Kayaks. The guides will paddle closely to your kayak and depending on the ratio you may even be in a kayak with a guide. For extra safety and comfort they can secure a tow line between your kayak and the guides kayak. The chance of capsizing is very minimal as you will not be in rough waters and the kayaks are very steady.
