This is a totally awesome tour. The flights there and back give the most spectacular scenery, excellent photo opportunities and the pilot tells you what you are flying over. The actual Milford Sound cruise is really good. Free tea, coffee or water throughout the entire cruise, other refreshments available to be purchased. Again stunning scenery and waterfalls.

An absolute MUST DO whilst in Wanaka!! Without doubt the most scenic flight you will ever take and well worth the $$. Everyone gets a window seat and they only fly in good conditions so you are guaranteed a great view. The boat cruise on Milford Sound is equally spectacular.
Suggestions: Flights are weather dependent which means if you fly you will get a great day in Milford. Flights can sometimes be cancelled for several days in a row due to low cloud or high winds so we recommend that you book this for one of your first days in Wanaka so that you can reschedule if necessary.

Does the day include lunch/drinks etc? We will have a 12 and 7 year old with us. Is this a suitable trip for kids of that age?

The scenic flight to Milford and boat cruise is a great trip to do with the family. The tour does not include lunch or drinks however you are welcome to bring your own food and drink as none is available to purchase on board the boat either. Will you be staying in Wanaka or Queenstown as there are flight options from both towns and the one from Queenstown does have the option of a picnic lunch. We recommend booking for one of your first days in Wanaka as the flights can get cancelled due to bad weather. If this is the case then you will be given the option of flying on another day or you can contact us for a full refund.
