We will help you to capture the spectacular, the beautiful and the epic, for yourself. Make the most of your time in Queenstown and capture images you are proud to show back home.
From Queenstown we have a range of itineraries to take you in different directions with varying unique environments, scenes and history. Our itineraries are flexible, tell us what you would like to capture and we will create a tour to suit your needs. Our expert guides will show you how to get the best out of your digital camera with technical and creative advice to give you beautifully exposed and composed shots that will last a lifetime.
Tours operate with a maximum of 4 in a private group or have a one on one experience with a private individuals tour.
Possible Itineraries:
South of Queenstown, along Lake Wakatipu & the Nevis Range (Full day) - Stop along Lake Wakatipu at Windy Point Lookout, Jardine's Boulder Field, Wye Creek and the Devil's Staircase. Visit Kingston lakefront, the Flyer steam train, the Old Fairlight station and the Mataura River. Visit the upper reaches of the Matura River and the Eyre Mountains back country. Experience the Nevis Range with views across Southland, the old Nevis ski hut, alpine tussock environments and their spectacular rock tors.
North to Wanaka (Full day) - Head out of Queenstown to Wanaka over the Crown Range, visit the iconic Cardrona Hotel pub, Lake Wanaka and the most photographed tree out there - That Wanaka Tree. See the Motatapu Gorge, Glendhu Bay and the Matukituki River mouth.
East to Cromwell, vineyards, orchards & gold history (Full day) - Head east from Queenstown through the Gibbston Valley Vineyards, visit historic Arrowtown, Kawarau Gorge, Roaring Meg Waterfall, Old Cromwell Town, the surrounding vineyards, Bannockburn gold sluicings and historic gold mining sites.
West to Glenorchy & Paradise (Full day) - View Moke Lake, Sam Summer's Hut (1.5-2 hour walk), views of Pigeon island, old Glenorchy wharf, old paradise homestead, Dart River and the Rees river, the remnants of gold mining.
Skippers Canyon (Full or half day) - Visit Skippers Saddle for views across the Wakatipu Basin with the Remarkables and the lake in the distance. Enter the historic Skippers canyon road with its massive rock landforms, views of the spectacular road winding down the canyon and the Southern Alps. Zig zag up the Crown Range for amazing views and explore quaint old Arrowtown with its gold mining past and old Chinese market garden.
Heritage Tour (Full or half day) - Explore the historic past of the Queenstown Lakes, visiting the restored main streets of frontier towns Arrowtown and Cromwell, visit old miners huts in their decaying splendour, see the old gold workings and marvel at roads carved into remote canyons.
Around Queenstown (Half day) - View the Wakatipu Basin from one of the high vantage points, explore historic Arrowtown with it's restored main street, autumn colours and old Chinese market garden. Walk through magical beech forest to an old miners camp by a spectacular waterfall.
Views from the heights (Half day) - This is a tour of some of the spectacular vantage points close to Queenstown to give you unique views of the Wakatipu Basin. Some locations include Remarkables - Windy Point, the Crown Range - New Zealand's highest road pass, Coronet Peak ski base (not in winter) and Skippers Saddle.
Destinations, locations and photographic subjects vary with tour length, weather conditions and what you decide to focus on.
