Danke.

Wow! What a scary/adrenalin pumping/awesome experience the Nevis Bungy jump was. Not only is the bungy itself nail biting but the ride out to the jump pod in the cable car is enough to put you off if you're scared of heights. Luckily I'm not too bad with heights but this was definitely enough to get the heart racing. It wasn't until I was told to stand up and shuffle out to the minimal ledge at which you are to jump off into the unknown that I suddenly thought, I don't know if I'm gonig to be able to do this. I'm not going to lie, that part is seriously terrifying. Word of advise for those who are yet to do it - don't look down and as soon as the count down has finished...just jump. I took the second part of my advise and jumped straight away but I did make the error of looking down beforehand. And what do you think I was thinking when they pulled me back up to the top - wow that was awesome I want to do it again. Seriously one of the best things I have ever done. If you are going to do the bungy you might as well do the big one. The whole Nevis experience is definitely one you will be glad you embarked on and one you will never forget.

Yes you can certainly go and watch the Nevis bungy as a spectator from Queenstown. You do need to book in though as there are only 3 spaces on each trip allocated to spectators and it does book up. The cost is currently $50 for a spectator which includes the return transfers from Queenstown and the chance to go out in the bungy jump pod with a harness on and watch the action up close and personal.

Which activities can they participate in?

Comments

Unfortunately the minimum age for bungy jumping in Queenstown is 10 years old and the weight minimum is 35kg (75lbs). The Zipline tour located at the top of the Skyline gondola complex is a good option for your group. Minimum age is 6 years old and its lots of fun.

One person wants to do the Bungy Jump and one person wants to do the Swing shot. Are they in the same place? Does family leave on same bus? Just book one or two hours apart so all family members are together at the same time at the same place?

Comments

The Nevis Bungy and the Nevis Swing are located at the same place just out of Queenstown. So if people in your group want to book one or the other then you will head out on the same bus from town at the same time.

Booking a holiday in May 2016. Wanting to do sky dive - white water rafting - 134 metre bundgee. Wonder where these are from Queenstown. Distance time and what time your activities start from in the the course of the day. Thanks

Comments

All the activities in Queenstown offer transfers from town so no need to worry about getting to and from. Each of the 3 activities you mentioned takes 3-5 hours so you wont be able to do all 3 in the one day. You could do 2 in one day or 1 each in day.

The Queenstown skydive takes place at the dropzone about 15 minutes out of town and operates every couple of hours all day depending on weather. The entire trip including transfers to and from and your skydive takes about 3.5 hours. I'd advise booking the 8.30am skydive as this is often the best time of day for wind etc so you have the best chance of skydiving. If your skydive is cancelled then you can reschedule to another day or get a full refund from us. For this reason we recommend booking for one of your first days in town so you have time to reschedule if necessary.

The white water rafting operates on the Shotover river with the base 10 minutes out of town but the start of the rafting is actually about 45 minutes away on the Skippers Canyon road. Trips depart twice daily at 8am or 1pm and you'll return about 4.5 hours later.

The Nevis bungy takes place in the nevis valley about 45 minutes out of town. Trips depart every hour or so and the round trip takes about 3.5 hours.

Hi Hafsa, unfortunately both your 10 month old and 2 year old are too small to travel out to the Nevis jump pod as spectators as they won't fit in a harness. There is no age restriction for this however the requirement is that they can fit a harness.

Comments

Hi Kristy, yes that's exactly right, just purchase 1 x Nevis Bungy & Swing Combo and 1 x Nevis Swing and you can both jump tandem together when you are there. You will do the bungy first and the swing second.

HI
I'm just seeking some information in regard to the Nevis Bungy which I hope to be doing around the 30th of October

I have a gopole reach (short pole - 75cm) that I can securely tether to my wrist(Strap with lock/latchable slider to make sure it stays tight)
Is this okay to jump with or should I be bringing a shorter alternative?
Should I bring two and choose the best option (75cm or shorter option of 30cm) on the day if that is more appropriate?
Thank you for your efforts & response

Comments

Hi Patrick. Yes you are welcome to bungy jump with a Go Pro at the Nevis bungy site so long as it is safely secured to your wrist or chest. I'd suggest bringing both poles and you can chat with the jump master on the day as to which one will work best. You can book your jump via the Book Now button on the Nevis bungy page on our site and we will email your booking confirmation straight back.

Hi just a quick question, would the duration leading up to your jump take up all day or just half?

Comments

Hi Billie. The duration of the Nevis bungy in Queenstown including transfers out to the Nevis bungy site and back (40 minutes in the van) and the bungy itself  is 3.5 hours. Once you get out to the bungy site you will be fitted with your safety harness, given a briefing and then you will be taken to the jump pod to do your bungy. You usually have about 2 hours on site in total and after everyone in your group has jumped you will be brought back to Queenstown.

If you wish to book your wife on as a spectator just select Bungy/Swing Spectator: $50 when you are making your bungy booking via our website.

Hi Maria, all spectators have to pay the $50. The road up to the Nevis bungy is a private road so you cannot drive up there yourself the only way of getting there is on the Bungy transport. The $50 includes access out to the jump pod via the cable cart so you are right up close to all the action.

Hi Chloe, unfortunately you can't do the Nevis Bungy as a tandem jump however if you were wanting to go tandem you could opt for the Nevis Swing instead which costs $160 per person for the tandem swing. The only bungy's that offer the tandem jump are the Kawarau Bungy and the Auckland Bridge Bungy.

Hi Ignacio. There is a special combo that includes the Nevis Bungy jump and the tandem skydive in Queenstown in one day. Its called the Skydive & Bungy Combo. This combo does save you $ and there are no further discounts for multiple bookings.

Hi!

I'd just like to enquire about availabilities for booking this jump.
I'm planning a trip to NZ in Aug this year, and thinking about doing this on the Weds 1st of Aug. .
Generally, how early do bookings need to be made in advance? I'm still trying to convince mates to join me and unsure about when and how many people to do it with at this stage..but worried about leaving it too last-minute.

Cheers, Sho

Hi Sho. We recommend booking all activities in Queenstown and New Zealand at least a week or two in advance especially given you are wanting to book a group of you on the Nevis bungy during the middle of the busy winter season. I'd suggest booking as soon as you know how many poeple and which day and time you wish to jump. Also, as long as you provide us sufficient notice (at least 48 hours) we can change your booking to another day/time if requested at no cost.

Is it possible to book ahead of time but pay once you arrive?

Comments

Hi Sarah. Unfortunately in order to confirm your spot you need to pay when you book. You can take the chance of turning up on the day at AJ Hackett in Queenstown but we can't guarantee there will be space on the day at the time you desire so we do recommend booking in advance.

Hi
My name is Eleanor George and I did the Nevis bungy on Friday 13th April (photo/video number 25). I didn't get the video or photos when I was there as I am running out of money but my mum has said she wants to buy them so I was wondering if the photos are still available?

Thanks,
Elle

Hi Elle, you will need to contact AJ Hackett direct on [email protected]. They will be able to locate your Nevis Bungy photos and video for you.

Can you jump in tandem or do you have to go by yourself?

Comments

Hi Jessica. At the AJ Hackett Nevis bungy site in Queenstown you must jump solo, it is not possible to do a tandem bungy jump. If you wish to jump tandem (with a friend) then you can do so at the Kawarau Bungy or you can do the Nevis Swing (same location as the Nevis bungy) as a tandem.

I heard you run off the Roof. I looked at the photos but can't see how this would work. How do you get to the the roof?

Comments

Hi Ron. You can't actually jump off the roof of the bungy pod at the Nevis bungy site in Queenstown. You can however jump off the roof at the Ledge bungy site which is also operated by AJ Hackett bungy and is located at the top of the Skyline gondola complex in town. If want to have a really awesome day then you can book the Thrillogy Combo which allows you to jump at all 3 bungy sites in Queenstown in the one day. Have fun!!

Please can you advise where to purchase insurance for the Nevis bungee jump as my travel and health insurances do not cover this

Comments

Hi Booton, tourists in New Zealand are actually covered by our national health system ACC so you are eligible to public health care for free should any injury occur to you while travelling in New Zealand.
