Take a scenic flight in Wanaka, but with a twist - you fly the plane! If you’ve always dreamed of flying, a Scenic Trial Flight with U Fly Wanaka is your chance to try. 

Join your U Fly Wanaka fully-qualified instructor in the cockpit for a 20-minute, 30-minute or 1-hour Scenic Trial Flight over Lake Wanaka. Take off, fly and land with dual control over the U Fly Wanaka small scenic aircraft, all while taking in stunning scenery over Central Otago. Your experienced U Fly Wanaka instructor will guide you through flying the plane on your Scenic Trial Flight, giving you full control if or when you feel confident.

Lake Wanaka Scenic Trial Flight
The 20-minute Lake Wanaka Scenic Flight will have you flying over Lake Wanaka and Glendhu Bay with dual control over a scenic plane. Take in awe-inspiring views of the Clutha River, Lake Wanaka’s four islands and surrounding mountains while flying a distance of 50kms with U Fly Wanaka. 

River Valley Scenic Trial Flight
The River Valley Scenic Flight is a 30-minute flight over Lake Wanaka to the start of the Matukituki Valley for a glimpse of Mount Aspiring National Park. Take as much or as little control as you like and fly 80kms over to Lake Hawea and back to U Fly Wanaka with breathtaking views along the way.

Glacier Ridge Scenic Trial Flight
Go the extra mile with a 1-hour Glacier Ridge Scenic Trial flight at U Fly Wanaka. This 130km option includes your flight briefing and then a 3500 flight climb into Mt Aspiring National Park. The glacier and mountain views in Mt Aspiring have been reserved only for the privileged who fly this route, so make the most of this unique experience on the Glacier Ridge Scenic Trial flight with U Fly Wanaka.
