Kickstart your adventure with a scenic drive up the North Island east coast, from Auckland to Paihia, Bay of Islands on Day 1, and further north to Henderson Bay on Day 2. This incredible journey is full of beaches, fish & chips, an exclusive sailing trip and getting to know your Backyard Roadies group.
The fun doesn’t stop as you reach the penultimate day on your 4 Day Far North Escape with Backyard Roadies. Visit the northernmost point of Aotearoa New Zealand, Te Rerenga Wairua (Cape Reinga), and discover its cultural significance and iconic lighthouse. You are then in for a treat with an afternoon of sandboarding at the giant Te Paki sand dunes, with a refreshing ice cream stop to cool you down afterwards. The final night’s accommodation is located on 90 Mile Beach, which is actually 55 miles long! Wake up to catch the sunrise and some waves on a magical morning surf lesson (additional cost) before starting your return journey towards Auckland. Along the way, pass by Hokianga Harbour (known as the birthplace of New Zealand), Tāne Mahuta (a giant kauri tree also called the God of the Forest) and the freshwater Kai Iwi Lakes to finish off the ultimate North Island road trip.
